Etihad Credit Bureau has announced the launch of its new “Tenant Enquiry” service, a digital solution that enables property owners to request access to the credit score of prospective tenants. The sharing of this information takes place only after the tenant gives consent through the UAE PASS digital identity app.

The company explained that the service relies on UAE PASS as a secure platform for obtaining approvals, ensuring that individuals’ data remains protected and that tenants maintain control over the sharing of their credit information. The service was first announced by Digital Dubai and the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority during GITEX 2025, before being officially launched through the Etihad Credit Bureau app in April 2026.

This step represents an important milestone in the ongoing cooperation between Etihad Credit Bureau, the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority, and Digital Dubai. It aims to provide integrated digital services that meet market needs and support the UAE’s efforts to reduce bureaucracy and accelerate digital transformation.

The “Tenant Enquiry” service is expected to strengthen trust and clarity in the rental market. It provides property owners with a reliable tool to assess prospective tenants more accurately, while giving tenants the ability to share their credit information in a secure and organized way when needed.

The service comes as part of a wider range of solutions being developed by Etihad Credit Bureau, including the “ChequeScore” service, which was recently enhanced using artificial intelligence. This service allows cheque recipients to scan a cheque and assess the likelihood of it being cleared, based on the credit history of the cheque issuer.

Marwan Ahmad Lutfi, Director General of Etihad Credit Bureau, said the “Tenant Enquiry” service reflects the results of cooperation with strategic partners across the public and private sectors, by offering practical and easy-to-use digital services that respond to market requirements.

He added that sharing trusted credit data through the UAE PASS app, along with the development of ChequeScore using artificial intelligence, helps enhance transparency and trust, while expanding the use of digital solutions across vital sectors.

For his part, Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, Director General of Digital Dubai, said the UAE PASS digital identity has established itself as one of the main pillars of digital trust in the UAE. He noted that its role has gone beyond identity verification to include secure consent management and the exchange of trusted data between different entities.

He explained that the cooperation with Etihad Credit Bureau is an important step toward building a responsible data economy, placing individuals at the center of control over their own data while enabling its use to provide more efficient and transparent services, especially in vital sectors such as real estate.

In the same context, Majed Sultan Al Mesmar, Director General of the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority, said the initiative highlights the importance of connecting the national digital infrastructure with financial and credit services. He noted that this contributes to the development of advanced solutions that improve transaction efficiency and strengthen trust in the real estate sector.

Etihad Credit Bureau confirmed that it will continue developing the “Tenant Enquiry” service in cooperation with the real estate sector, in addition to launching new use cases based on user-approved data sharing through UAE PASS. Individuals can view their credit records and reports, and access the “Tenant Enquiry” and “ChequeScore” services through the company’s official app, or via its website: www.etihadbureau.ae.
