Dubai Industrial City, part of TECOM Group, has signed a musataha agreement with Abdul Jalil Al-Asmawi Group, one of the leading independent family-owned groups in the UAE, to expand the group’s operations within the city through a new facility specializing in the manufacturing and refurbishment of oil and gas well drilling rigs.

The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the fifth edition of “Make it in the Emirates 2026”, highlighting Dubai Industrial City’s growing role in supporting the industrial sector and strengthening the presence of advanced industries in the UAE.

Under the new project, Abdul Jalil Al-Asmawi Group will add investments worth AED 45 million, bringing its total investments in Dubai Industrial City to around AED 500 million. This reflects the group’s confidence in the industrial environment offered by the city and its ability to support long-term expansion plans.

The expansion project will cover more than 330,000 square feet, raising the group’s total leased area within Dubai Industrial City to about 4.7 million square feet. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2027.

Saud Abu Al-Shawareb, Executive Vice President of TECOM Group – Industrial Sector, said Dubai Industrial City continues to enable manufacturing companies to expand within an integrated ecosystem that combines advanced infrastructure, a strategic location, and developed logistics services.

He added that the new agreement reflects the growing confidence in Dubai Industrial City as a leading destination for industrial companies. It also supports the goals of Operation 300bn, the Make it in the Emirates initiative, and the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, while contributing to enhancing the competitiveness of the national industrial sector.

The new facility is expected to create around 200 additional job opportunities, in addition to adopting smart and advanced industrial technologies while complying with international sustainability standards and green building requirements.

Dubai Industrial City currently hosts more than 1,100 customers and 350 operational factories. It benefits from its proximity to Jebel Ali Port, Al Maktoum International Airport, and Etihad Rail’s freight terminal, which strengthens its ability to support supply chains locally, regionally, and globally.
