Salik, the exclusive operator of Dubai’s road toll system, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Shamal Holding to provide seamless payment solutions at the new multi-story parking facility in Dubai Harbour, as part of efforts to support smart mobility and expand digital services across the emirate.
Under the agreement, Salik will provide digital payment solutions at the new facility in cooperation with Parkonic, allowing parking users to pay fees directly through their Salik accounts without the need for traditional payment methods.
The service is expected to help speed up entry and exit procedures while offering a smoother and more flexible experience for visitors and residents.
New Nine-Story Parking Facility
The launch of the service comes as one of Dubai Harbour’s modern parking facilities nears operation. The building consists of nine stories and covers a total area of approximately 31,487 square meters.
The facility includes around 845 parking spaces and is designed to meet growing demand for parking services in Dubai Harbour and nearby areas.
Areas expected to benefit from the new facility include Dubai Marina, Marina Walk, Jumeirah Beach Residence, Dubai Media City, and Dubai Internet City.
An Integrated Mobility and Payments Platform
Ibrahim Sultan Al Haddad, CEO of Salik, said the new partnership represents another step in the company’s move toward becoming an integrated mobility and digital payments platform.
He said Salik continues to expand its services across key locations and strategic assets through smart solutions aimed at improving mobility efficiency and enhancing the customer experience.
Abdulla bin Habtoor, CEO of Shamal, said integrating Salik’s seamless payment solutions into the Dubai Harbour parking facility reflects the company’s commitment to developing destinations supported by smart infrastructure and providing more convenient services for visitors.
Expanding Digital Services
The memorandum of understanding forms part of Salik’s strategy to expand its digital services beyond road toll operations and strengthen the presence of its digital wallet across key destinations, transport facilities, and smart parking locations.
The move also aligns with Shamal’s approach to developing advanced infrastructure and integrated experiences across its projects, supporting Dubai’s efforts to strengthen its position among smart and connected cities.
