The UAE is preparing to roll out specialized real estate degree programs at select universities, offering Emiratis a pathway to excel in one of the country’s most prominent industries. These programs, tailored specifically for UAE nationals, aim to nurture talent and equip students with the expertise needed to navigate the complexities of the property market.

This exciting development was revealed during the second Real Estate Day for Emirati Employment, hosted by the Dubai Land Department (DLD). The event, focused on creating job opportunities for Emiratis in the property sector, also highlighted over 400 new roles available for nationals.

Marwan bin Ghalita, Director General of the DLD, spoke about the new degree program, which is being developed in partnership with local universities. “This initiative will prepare Emirati youth to lead in the real estate industry while addressing the growing need for skilled professionals,” he said. Details of the curriculum and participating institutions are expected to be announced soon.

Bridging Education and Industry Needs

The real estate-focused degree program is designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and the industry’s demands. Students will gain insights into key areas such as property management, investment strategies, and urban development, ensuring they are well-prepared for the workforce.

Bin Ghalita emphasized that the initiative is about more than just offering a degree; it’s about empowering Emiratis to take on leadership roles in a sector that continues to shape the UAE’s economy.

A Wealth of Opportunities for Emiratis

This year’s Real Estate Day built on the success of the inaugural event, which helped over 1,000 Emiratis find employment in the industry. Leading companies, including Al Ruwad Real Estate and Arada, participated again this year, offering roles in marketing, sales, hospitality, and public relations.

Omar Alshaiba, founder of Dirham Real Estate, shared his company’s approach to empowering Emiratis: “We’re committed to helping Emirati professionals develop skills and create additional sources of income. Our training programs are designed to give them the experience they need to succeed.”

Among the attendees were recent graduates like Hazza Al Yamahi, who expressed his excitement about starting a career in real estate. “It’s an industry I’ve always been interested in, and this event gave me a chance to learn more about the opportunities available,” he said.

Supporting Emiratisation Goals

The launch of real estate degree programs aligns with the UAE’s broader efforts to boost Emiratisation. By focusing on education and providing hands-on training, the government is encouraging more nationals to take part in industries that are vital to the country’s growth.

The Real Estate Day event, hosted in collaboration with the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, as well as Nafis, underscores the UAE’s commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for its citizens. The introduction of real estate degree programs is yet another step toward achieving this goal.
