In a humanitarian gesture marking the UAE’s 53rd National Day, President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has ordered the release of 2,269 prisoners from correctional facilities across the nation.
This initiative reflects the President’s commitment to offering these individuals a renewed opportunity to reintegrate into society, achieve stability, and bring joy to their families. In addition to their release, Sheikh Mohamed has pledged to cover all fines and penalties imposed on the inmates, who had been sentenced for a variety of offenses.
Such pardons are a customary practice in the UAE, especially during significant national occasions.
By facilitating the reintegration of these individuals, the UAE aims to foster a more inclusive and supportive community environment.
