Emirates to Launch Refurbished Boeing 777 on 8 New Global Routes

Emirates has announced a major expansion of its upgraded Boeing 777 aircraft, revealing plans to deploy them on eight new routes across its global network. The move comes as part of the airline’s ongoing fleet modernization initiative, aimed at enhancing onboard experience and boosting operational efficiency.

The refurbishment of each aircraft takes around three weeks and includes a full cabin overhaul. By September 2025, Emirates intends to operate the updated Boeing 777s and Airbus A380s on a total of 44 destinations worldwide.

Here’s when and where travelers can expect the revamped Boeing 777 experience:

  • Lisbon: Starting June 1, 2025, all Emirates flights to and from Lisbon (EK191/192 and EK193/194) will feature the updated aircraft.
  • Dublin: Service begins June 25, 2025, on flight EK161/162.
  • Hong Kong: Upgraded aircraft will be used on EK382/383 starting July 15, 2025.
  • Maldives: From June 1, 2025, flight EK658/659 will operate with the new configuration, with EK656/657 and EK660/661 following on July 15.
  • Kolkata: From August 10, 2025, EK572/573 will operate four times a week (Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) using the refurbished aircraft.
  • Colombo: Daily flights (EK650/651) will switch to the modernized aircraft from August 10.
  • Johannesburg: EK765/766 will adopt the new Boeing 777 starting September 1, with EK761/762 joining on September 25.
  • Cape Town: The updated aircraft will serve EK770/771 from September 20, 2025.

Emirates’ refurbishment program introduces enhanced Business and Premium Economy cabins, designed for greater comfort, privacy, and luxury.
