Dubai’s Rental Vehicle Sector Grows 43% in One Year, RTA Reports

Dubai

Dubai’s vehicle rental sector just wrapped up a strong year, with new figures showing a major rise in both fleet size and the number of companies operating across the city.

According to the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), the number of rental vehicles on Dubai’s roads jumped by 43% in 2024 compared to the previous year. The rental business itself also expanded, with 33% more companies entering the market during the same period.

Ahmed Mahboub, CEO of the RTA’s Licensing Agency, said the growth shows how competitive and attractive Dubai has become for businesses. He pointed to the city’s ability to draw more private sector companies and investors by making it easier to set up and operate rental businesses.

He added that the boom in rental activity is not just about more cars on the road — it’s a sign of broader economic momentum. The sector is playing an important role in supporting Dubai’s ambitious development goals and strengthening its reputation as a global center for finance, business, and tourism.

With its strong infrastructure, supportive policies, and global outlook, Dubai’s rental vehicle sector is well-positioned for continued expansion in the coming years.
