In a significant move to bolster its position as a global nexus for travel and business, Dubai has inaugurated the world’s largest visa application centre. Located in the heart of Wafi City, this expansive facility is a testament to the emirate’s dedication to innovation and excellence in service delivery.

A New Benchmark in Visa Processing

Spanning approximately 150,000 square feet, the centre is designed to handle up to 10,000 visa applications daily—a capacity unmatched by any other facility worldwide. This monumental achievement is the result of a collaboration between VFS Global, a leader in visa outsourcing and technology services, and Dubai’s visionary leadership.

The centre was officially opened by His Excellency Helal Saeed Almarri, Director-General of Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism; His Excellency Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director-General of the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai; and Zubin Karkaria, Founder and CEO of VFS Global Group.

Enhancing Global Connectivity

Helal Saeed Almarri emphasized the strategic importance of the new centre, stating, “Visa facilitation is a key enabler of talent attraction, tourism development, and international partnerships—all essential levers of our strategy to position Dubai as the world’s most connected and future-ready city.”

Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri highlighted the centre as a milestone in Dubai’s journey of excellence, reflecting the city’s commitment to delivering efficient, smart government services.

A Multinational Team for a Multinational City

Staffed by over 400 trained professionals from more than 25 nationalities, the centre is equipped to serve a diverse clientele, reflecting Dubai’s multicultural fabric. The facility offers multilingual services to cater to applicants from over 200 nationalities, ensuring a seamless and inclusive experience.

State-of-the-Art Facilities and Services

Beyond its impressive processing capacity, the centre boasts advanced features designed to enhance the applicant experience. These include self-service kiosks, secure lockers, photo booths, and photocopy stations for last-minute document needs. Touch-screen information kiosks and QR code-based check-ins ensure efficient visitor flow. Fast-track lanes are available for families, senior citizens, and people of determination, underscoring the centre’s commitment to accessibility.

Aligning with Dubai’s Vision

The launch of this centre aligns with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which aims to enhance global mobility, unlock access to opportunities, and accelerate growth across the visitor and business economy. By facilitating easier access to visas, Dubai continues to attract global talent, boost tourism, and forge international collaborations.

As Dubai continues to set new standards in service excellence and innovation, the opening of the world’s largest visa application centre marks a significant step in its journey to becoming the most connected and future-ready city globally.
