DP World and Wilo Expand Partnership in Smart Logistics and Water Solutions

Wilo Group has announced the expansion of its cooperation with DP World through the signing of a memorandum of understanding aimed at supporting sustainable infrastructure, developing smart logistics solutions, and making use of artificial intelligence technologies in the global water sector.

The memorandum was signed at Wilo Park in Dortmund, Germany, by Oliver Hermes, President and Global CEO of Wilo Group, and Abdulla Al Hashmi, Chief Operating Officer of Parks and Economic Zones at DP World, in the presence of Abdulla Al Khater, Head of the Economic Section at the UAE Embassy in Berlin.

Under the agreement, both sides will explore opportunities to use Wilo’s AI-supported solutions across DP World’s ports and logistics hubs. This is expected to help improve operational efficiency and strengthen sustainability across infrastructure and related services.

The cooperation also includes efforts to enhance the efficiency of Wilo Group’s global supply chains, in addition to studying joint opportunities under Wilo’s Global AI Academy for the Water Sector program.

Oliver Hermes said the expansion of the partnership represents an important strategic step, noting that the cooperation brings together Wilo’s expertise in water technologies and DP World’s capabilities in infrastructure and logistics.

For his part, Abdulla Al Hashmi said the agreement builds on a long-standing partnership between the two sides, which has developed over the past years through Jafza. He added that the new cooperation supports smarter industrial operations, strengthens supply chain resilience, and opens wider growth opportunities for manufacturers and customers in the UAE, Germany, and global markets.

This cooperation comes at a time when digital and smart solutions are becoming increasingly important in the water and logistics sectors, especially with the growing need for more efficient infrastructure and supply chains capable of meeting the demands of global markets.
