In a powerful testament to its growing status as a global digital economy hub, the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy announced its support for the launch and expansion of 308 digital startups during the first six months of 2025. This marks a significant 39% increase compared to the 221 companies supported in the same period last year.
The initiative reflects Dubai’s ambitious push to foster a thriving digital ecosystem, with focused efforts on attracting talent, enabling innovation, and connecting entrepreneurs to global markets.
A Unified Vision for a Thriving Digital Future
Omar Sultan Al Olama, UAE Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, and Chairman of the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, emphasized the importance of nurturing a robust digital environment.
“We are committed to building a fully integrated digital business ecosystem that supports startups and enables them to scale globally. Dubai continues to strengthen its digital infrastructure, update its regulatory frameworks, and cultivate an environment where innovation and entrepreneurship thrive,” Al Olama stated.
Global Outreach and Strategic Events
Saeed Al Gergawi, Vice President of the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, highlighted the Chamber’s global outreach efforts:
“In the first half of 2025 alone, we organized 10 events to foster strategic partnerships in the digital economy and conducted 15 international roadshows showcasing Dubai’s advanced digital infrastructure and unique investment opportunities.”
A key highlight of the year is the Expand North Star 2025 exhibition, set to take place from October 12 to 15. Hosted by the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy and organized by the Dubai World Trade Centre, the event is the world’s largest gathering of startups, innovators, and tech investors. It aims to showcase Dubai as a top-tier destination for digital entrepreneurship and investment.
Empowering Startups Through Global Competitions
As part of its international outreach, the Chamber hosted several startup competitions during its roadshows. Winners were granted fully funded opportunities to participate in Expand North Star 2025, and gain exposure on a global stage. These events also served as qualifying rounds for the Supernova Challenge, the region’s biggest startup competition, offering a powerful launchpad for emerging tech innovators.
A Digital-First Economy on the Rise
Dubai’s digital transformation is a cornerstone of the emirate’s broader economic agenda, particularly the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33), which aims to position the city as a global leader in technology and innovation.
By supporting hundreds of startups and fostering international partnerships, the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy is playing a central role in unlocking the full potential of the digital sector and driving Dubai’s evolution into a future-ready economy.
