Dubai, UAE – February 11, 2025 – The World Governments Summit 2025 is officially underway in Dubai, bringing together leaders and experts from across the globe to shape the future of governance. Running from February 11 to 13, this year’s summit is set to be one of the most influential yet, featuring discussions on pressing global issues, economic strategies, and technological advancements.
The event, now in its 12th edition, has drawn participation from more than 30 heads of state, 140 government delegations, and representatives from over 80 international and regional organizations. With more than 300 speakers leading over 200 sessions, the summit is poised to spark critical conversations about governance, sustainability, and economic growth.
Key Themes at the Summit
The agenda revolves around six main themes, each addressing a fundamental aspect of governance in the modern world:
- Good Governance & Accountability: How governments can enhance transparency, efficiency, and public trust.
- Economic Sustainability & Financing the Future: Strategies for economic resilience amid global uncertainties.
- Climate Resilience & Crisis Management: Innovative approaches to mitigating climate change and building resilient cities.
- Human Development & Innovation: The role of technology and education in shaping a human-centric future.
- Healthcare Transformation: Addressing global health challenges and improving healthcare systems.
- Emerging Technologies & the Future: Exploring how AI, robotics, and other advancements will shape governance.
One of today’s major highlights is the 9th Arab Fiscal Forum, a key event focused on fiscal policies and financial strategies for the future. Organized in partnership with the Arab Monetary Fund, International Monetary Fund (IMF), and the UAE’s Ministry of Finance, the forum will discuss strategies for managing government debt, tax reforms, and public sector efficiency.
Speakers at the forum include UAE Minister of State for Financial Affairs Mohamed Al Hussaini, IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva, and Arab Monetary Fund Director-General Fahad Al Turki.
Beyond the Arab Fiscal Forum, the summit will feature more than 30 high-level ministerial meetings and roundtable discussions involving over 400 ministers from different governments. These sessions aim to foster collaboration and share innovative governance models that can address the most pressing global challenges.
