Nasdaq Dubai welcomed the listing of a three-year benchmark bond worth $1.75 billion issued by the New Development Bank, raising the total value of the bank’s listings on the exchange to $3.75 billion.
The new listing reflects the New Development Bank’s continued confidence in Dubai’s capital markets and its ability to use the emirate’s position as an international financial center to reach a broad base of regional and global investors.
Three-Year Bonds Maturing in 2029
The issuance carries a coupon rate of 4.375 percent and is due to mature in 2029.
The bonds were issued under the New Development Bank’s Euro Medium Term Note program, which provides a flexible and efficient framework for issuing debt instruments in line with the bank’s development mandate and financing objectives.
The issuance forms part of the bank’s broader strategy to raise long-term capital for infrastructure and sustainable development projects across BRICS countries, as well as other emerging and developing economies.
Strong Investor Demand for New Development Bank Issuance
The issuance attracted broad and diversified investor demand across several regions. Investors from Asia-Pacific accounted for 65 percent of demand, while Europe, the Middle East and Africa represented 32 percent, and the Americas accounted for 3 percent.
Final orders exceeded $3.2 billion, reflecting strong interest in the issuance and continued investor confidence in the bank and its financing instruments.
Participation came from a wide institutional base, including central banks, official institutions, banks, fund managers and corporations, highlighting the diversity of investors accessing Dubai’s fixed-income market.
Diversifying Funding Sources and Expanding Global Presence
The listing reinforces the New Development Bank’s approach to diversifying its funding sources and strengthening its presence in major international financial centers, supporting its ability to access global capital and finance development projects.
Daobing Fu, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the New Development Bank, said that investor demand for the three-year $1.75 billion benchmark bond issuance reflects firmly established market confidence in the New Development Bank’s strong credit standing and in its development mission to mobilize resources for financing infrastructure and sustainable development projects in the bank’s member countries and across other emerging economies and developing countries. He added that the issuance also underscores the bank’s ability to access diverse sources of international capital.
