Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, one of the three chambers operating under Dubai Chambers, showcased the opportunities and capabilities Dubai offers to gaming companies, investors, and entrepreneurs during its participation in Gamescom 2026, held in Cologne, Germany.
During the event, the Chamber held 16 meetings with companies, investors, publishers, digital platforms, service providers, and a number of organizations and institutions involved in the gaming ecosystem. The meetings reflected its continued efforts to expand international business links and strengthen Dubai’s presence in this fast-growing sector.
Promising Opportunities for Gaming Companies in Dubai
The meetings focused on the opportunities available across Dubai’s digital business sector and on ways to strengthen connections between partners and investors in the emirate and their counterparts in Germany and other international markets.
They also provided an opportunity to explore the latest developments and experiences in the gaming industry, while exchanging expertise and best practices that can support business growth and contribute to the continued development of the sector.
Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy highlighted Dubai’s important role in facilitating communication and cooperation between game developers, publishers, digital platforms, and specialized consultants, helping create new partnership opportunities and supporting business expansion.
Dubai as a Link Between Startups and Investors
The meetings also explored investment opportunities in gaming startups and Dubai’s ability to connect these companies with global investment funds and regional capital.
The Chamber highlighted the role Dubai can play as a link between gaming company founders and venture capital firms, helping businesses gain access to suitable investors and partners at different stages of their growth.
Discussions also covered potential partnerships in developer mentoring, business accelerator programs, hackathons, product development, studio management and operations, as well as cloud services and distribution.
Other areas of cooperation included engagement with content creators and user acquisition, both of which are important for helping gaming companies expand their reach and connect with wider audiences.
Strengthening Cooperation Between Dubai and Germany
Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy also discussed with organizations and institutions involved in Germany’s gaming industry the potential to develop new areas of cooperation between Dubai and Germany across gaming and the wider digital economy.
The discussions addressed some of the key factors that make Dubai an attractive destination for startups at different stages of development, particularly companies looking to expand beyond their home markets and enter new international markets.
The Chamber also highlighted Dubai’s supportive business environment, its growing network of investors and partners, and its position as a gateway to a wide range of regional and international markets.
Ambition to Position Dubai Among the World’s Top 10 Gaming Hubs
During the meetings, Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy highlighted the targets of the Dubai Program for Gaming, which aims to strengthen the emirate’s position as one of the world’s leading centers for the gaming industry.
The program aims to position Dubai among the world’s top 10 gaming hubs by 2033, while creating 30,000 new jobs linked to the sector.
It also seeks to increase the gaming industry’s contribution by around $1 billion to the growth of Dubai’s digital economy and gross domestic product, reflecting the sector’s growing role in supporting the emirate’s economic diversification.
Supporting Companies Looking to Establish Operations in Dubai
During the meetings held on the sidelines of the exhibition, Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy introduced gaming entrepreneurs, companies, and investors to the services available through the “Business in Dubai” platform.
