As the New Year approaches, Dubai’s Events Security Committee (ESC) has unveiled an extensive plan to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all residents and visitors during the city’s celebrations.

Enhanced Security and Coordination

The ESC is collaborating with 48 entities to implement a range of measures:

• Personnel Deployment: Over 10,000 personnel, including police officers, security guards, and volunteers, will be stationed across 30 celebration sites.
• Traffic Management: A smart plan developed with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will utilize approximately 10,000 cameras for road surveillance to ease traffic flow.
• Public Transport: Dubai Metro’s red and green lines will operate continuously from 5:00 AM on December 31, 2024, to 12:00 AM on January 2, 2025, totaling 42 hours of service.
• Road Closures: Specific roads, including Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard and Al Asayel Road, will have scheduled closures to manage traffic effectively.

• Al Asayel Street from Oud Metha Road to Burj Khalifa: from 4:00 PM
• Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard, Burj Khalifa Street, and Al Mustaqbal Street: from 4:00 PM, depending on parking availability
• Lower Financial Centre Street: from 4:00 PM
• Upper Financial Centre Street and Al Sukook Street: from 8:00 PM
• Public Advisory: Guests with bookings in the area must arrive before 4:00 PM.
