In a major milestone for the region, Dubai has achieved its highest-ever rankings in the latest edition of the Global Financial Centres Index (GFCI), released by London-based consultancy Z/Yen. The report placed Dubai 5th in the world for financial technology (fintech) and 12th overall among 119 international financial hubs.

This recognition underscores the lasting impact of the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), whose strategic initiatives over the past 20 years have solidified Dubai’s position as a global leader in financial services. The GFCI, one of the most respected assessments in the industry, based its findings on more than 31,000 evaluations from over 4,900 financial professionals worldwide.

What sets Dubai apart is not only its growing influence in fintech, but also its unique status as the only city in the region to achieve such global prominence. It now stands alongside traditional powerhouses like London, New York, and Paris as one of the eight top-tier financial capitals worldwide.

Dubai was also named the most frequently mentioned city in the index, signaling strong future potential and increased relevance in the global financial landscape. With its deep resources, infrastructure, and innovation-driven policies, Dubai is well-positioned to continue climbing the ranks and shaping the future of finance on a global scale.
