Dubai Home Doubles in Value to Dh10 Million But the Owners Aren’t Selling

Meadows Dubai

What started as an unplanned purchase turned into a dream home for Indian content creator Rimpy Gupta and her family. Nine years after buying their Meadows property for Dh5 million, its value has doubled, but they have no plans to leave. Here’s a look inside their home and why they love their life in this lush Dubai community.

From Apartment Living to a Spacious Villa

Rimpy Gupta, along with her husband Manish, an entrepreneur, and their two children, Manvik (17) and Mansvi (11), made the move to their four-bedroom villa in The Meadows nine years ago. Before that, they had spent a decade renting a two-bedroom apartment in Bur Dubai.

They hadn’t been actively looking to buy, but when Manish’s brother informed them about a house for sale in The Meadows, they decided to take a look. It only took one visit for Rimpy to fall in love. “I sat in the garden and told Manish, ‘Let’s buy it. It’s a beautiful house,’” she recalls.

Within just 20 days, they had completed the purchase and moved in.

A Home That’s More Than Just a House
Their villa features four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a study that doubles as Manish’s office, a spacious kitchen, and an open-plan living and dining area. But for Rimpy, the standout feature has always been the garden.

“The only thing missing is a bedroom downstairs, but everything else is perfect,” she says.

Property Value: Then vs. Now

The couple bought the house for Dh5 million, and today, it is valued at over Dh10 million. Some have even estimated its worth at Dh13 million. Despite the soaring value, Rimpy and her family have no intention of selling.

“We love it here,” she says. “We’re not planning to move.”

Renovations & Personal Touches

Over the years, they’ve made several improvements:

  • Installed a sauna (though they don’t use it often)
  • Built an extra room in the backyard, which serves as a workshop
  • Upgraded to wooden flooring throughout the house
  • Added a shaded outdoor sitting area
  • Created a new powder room upstairs, converting an empty space into a functional dressing area

Adjusting to a New Community

Moving from Bur Dubai to The Meadows wasn’t easy at first. Rimpy admits that the first year was challenging, especially for her daughter, who was used to having a close-knit group of friends in their old neighborhood.

“We felt a bit isolated from the Indian community at first,” she says. “But once she started nursery and I began driving more, we met other Indian families in The Meadows. Now, we feel completely at home.”

Why They Love The Meadows

One of the biggest draws of The Meadows is its greenery and peaceful environment.

“There are beautiful lakes, and when you walk around, it feels like you’re still in India,” Rimpy says.

Other reasons they love the neighborhood include:

  • Safety – It’s a gated community, so children can play freely.
  • Sense of community – Many Indian families live there, making social connections easy.
  • Spaciousness – No parking issues, a big garden for hosting parties, and a general feeling of openness.

“Dubai truly feels like home now,” she adds.

Facilities & Lifestyle

Living in The Meadows comes with plenty of perks. The community offers:

  • Swimming pool
  • Tennis and basketball courts
  • Barbecue areas for gatherings

A Laid-Back Interior Design

Rimpy describes their home as functional and relaxed, rather than overly formal or stylish.

“I’m very religious, and we often hold pujas at home,” she says. “So, I’ve chosen furniture that’s lightweight and easy to move, so we can create space when needed.”

Future Plans: Staying Put for Now

Despite tempting offers to sell, Rimpy and her family have no immediate plans to leave.

“My son is planning to go to the US for university, but my husband’s business is here. Everything we love is here. As long as things remain good, we’ll be staying.”

For now, this house is not just an investment—it’s home.
