The Dubai Multi Commodities Centre has signed a partnership with EAK Digital, the organizer of the global BlockDown events series, to launch BlockDown Dubai for the first time in the emirate in early 2027.

The event is scheduled to take place at Uptown Dubai on January 26 and 27, 2027, as part of efforts to support Dubai’s position as a global hub for sectors linked to digital assets, blockchain, artificial intelligence, and Web3-based gaming.

An event bringing founders and investors together

BlockDown Dubai is expected to attract between 2,000 and 3,000 participants, including founders, investors, companies, and institutions working across digital assets, blockchain, fintech, artificial intelligence, and Web3 gaming.

The event is also expected to bring together venture capital funds and financial service providers, creating a platform for key players in these sectors to meet, discuss growth opportunities, and explore new partnerships.

Dubai at the heart of digital transformation

Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of DMCC, said that digital assets, artificial intelligence, and blockchain infrastructure continue to move from the edges of the global economy toward its core.

He added that the next phase of growth will be shaped by the ability of these technologies to integrate with capital, regulatory frameworks, and international trade. He also noted that DMCC has built a leading technology community in the region, including one of the largest Web3 company clusters in the Middle East.

Bin Sulayem said the partnership with EAK Digital to host BlockDown Dubai at Uptown Dubai establishes an important platform that brings founders, investors, and institutions together at the center of this transformation.

A technology community with more than 800 Web3 companies

DMCC currently hosts more than 800 companies specializing in Web3, within a wider technology community of over 4,000 companies. The centre also includes more than 26,000 companies operating across trade, finance, and professional services.

This presence reflects DMCC’s growing role in supporting technology and digital companies, while providing a business environment that helps develop solutions related to blockchain, digital assets, and artificial intelligence.

Uptown Dubai to host the first edition

The first edition of BlockDown Dubai will be held at The Plaza in Uptown Dubai, bringing together stakeholders from digital assets, decentralized technologies, artificial intelligence, Web3 gaming, venture capital, and financial services.

The event is expected to discuss topics including blockchain applications, asset tokenization, digital finance, artificial intelligence, and gaming technologies, within a framework focused on the opportunities these technologies can create across markets and different economic sectors.
