Mediclinic Parkview Expansion: AED 420 Million Investment to Strengthen Specialized Healthcare in Dubai

Mediclinic Middle East has announced an AED 420 million investment to expand Mediclinic Parkview Hospital in Dubai, in a move aimed at strengthening the hospital’s capabilities across a range of advanced and specialized medical services while widening access for residents of communities in southern Dubai.

The expansion comes as Dubai’s healthcare sector continues to attract growing levels of high-quality investment, supported by the emirate’s business-friendly environment, incentives, and infrastructure that have strengthened its appeal to international and multinational healthcare providers.

Such investments are expected to add further specialized services and advanced medical capabilities to Dubai’s healthcare system, helping it keep pace with rapid population and urban growth while reinforcing the emirate’s position as a leading destination for advanced healthcare.

Enhancing the Patient Experience and Accelerating Diagnosis

The Mediclinic Parkview expansion is focused on creating a more integrated patient experience by making specialized medical services easier to access, speeding up diagnostic pathways, and expanding outpatient capacity.

The project also aims to strengthen coordination across the different stages of care, beginning with consultation and diagnosis, continuing through treatment and recovery, and extending to follow-up care. This approach is designed to give patients a smoother and more connected healthcare journey.

Expanded Oncology Services

The expansion will also strengthen the hospital’s oncology capabilities through the development of facilities designed to support high-quality services and advanced levels of care.

The project includes infrastructure capable of accommodating future developments in advanced oncology services, allowing the hospital to broaden its diagnostic and treatment capabilities in the years ahead.

This expansion is expected to enhance the hospital’s ability to manage cases that require specialized and advanced care within a modern and integrated medical environment.

Urgent Care Unit for Children

The project also includes further development of pediatric services, with a dedicated urgent care unit for children planned as part of the expansion.

The new unit is intended to support the care of infants and children while making specialized services more accessible to families living in nearby residential communities.

It will also help provide faster access to medical care for children who require timely attention, while strengthening the hospital’s ability to meet the needs of families in southern Dubai, an area experiencing continued residential and population growth.

Broader Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Services

The expansion will also include the development of musculoskeletal services, sports medicine, and physiotherapy, along with facilities designed to support patients throughout treatment, recovery, and rehabilitation.

Additional day-surgery rooms and day-care wards are also part of the project, enhancing the hospital’s ability to provide more flexible treatment options and allowing a greater number of procedures to be completed without requiring lengthy hospital stays.

These additions are expected to provide a more efficient and integrated treatment experience, particularly for patients who require rehabilitation, physiotherapy, or post-surgical follow-up.

Smart Technologies and Greater Automation

The expansion also extends to the hospital’s digital and operational capabilities through the use of automation and smart technologies designed to improve the integration of medical and administrative services.

These technologies are expected to enhance the patient experience, improve the efficiency of clinical operations, and strengthen safety standards, while also supporting faster coordination between departments and services across the hospital.

The investment in smart technology aligns with the wider direction of Dubai’s healthcare sector, which continues to embrace digital transformation as a way to improve quality, efficiency, and the overall patient journey.

Expansion to Be Completed in 2027

Construction work on the project is expected to begin soon, with the expansion scheduled for completion in 2027, adding new services and capabilities to Mediclinic Parkview Hospital.

His Excellency Dr. Alawi AlSheikh-Ali, Director General of the Dubai Health Authority, said that investment in the development of hospitals and specialized healthcare centers reflects the evolution of Dubai’s healthcare sector toward more specialized and integrated services, while strengthening the system’s ability to provide advanced care close to people and in line with the highest standards of quality and safety.

Hein van Eck, Chief Executive Officer of Mediclinic Middle East, said: “This investment reflects our confidence in the direction of Dubai’s healthcare sector and the remarkable progress it continues to make. It also reflects our commitment to further developing our services in line with the emirate’s rapid growth and the needs of its residents.”
