The Dubai Financial Market continued to post positive indicators during the first nine months of the year, with brokerage firms adding around 64,416 new investor accounts.
The increase was supported by a wider range of investment opportunities, growing confidence in the strength of Dubai’s economy, and the continued appeal of local equities.
The positive financial performance of listed companies and their strong business results also contributed to attracting new groups of investors to the market.
64.4K New Accounts in Nine Months
The new investor accounts were spread across the first nine months of the year.
Brokerage firms added 6,339 accounts in January and another 5,644 in February. The number rose sharply in March, when 12,837 new accounts were opened.
In April, brokerage firms added 7,356 accounts, followed by 5,210 in May and 6,874 in June.
July recorded another strong increase, with 11,366 new accounts added during the month. The number stood at 3,492 in August before rising again to 5,298 accounts in September.
The figures show continued investor interest in the Dubai Financial Market throughout the first nine months of the year.
BHM Capital Leads in New Accounts
BHM Capital Financial Services recorded the largest number of new investor accounts during the January-to-September period, adding a total of 20,752 accounts.
Emirates NBD Securities followed with 12,637 new accounts, while Al Ramz Capital added 9,147 accounts.
Abu Dhabi Islamic Securities recorded 7,979 new accounts during the period, while Mashreq Securities added 4,532 accounts.
AED 324.99 Billion in Brokerage Trading
Alongside the growth in new investor accounts, brokerage firms on the Dubai Financial Market executed more than 6.33 million trades during the first nine months of the year.
The transactions involved approximately 95.62 billion shares, with their combined value exceeding AED 324.99 billion.
EFG Hermes UAE accounted for the largest share of brokerage trading value between January and September, with a 23.76% share equivalent to approximately AED 77.22 billion.
Arqaam Securities ranked next, with trading valued at around AED 38.95 billion and a market share of 11.98%.
Emirates NBD Securities followed with an 11.33% share, representing approximately AED 36.84 billion in trading value.
BHM Capital Financial Services recorded approximately AED 32.83 billion in trading, representing 10.1% of the total.
BHM Capital Financial Services’ market-making activity recorded approximately AED 17.84 billion, accounting for a 5.49% share.
September Adds 5,298 New Accounts
On a monthly basis, brokerage firms on the Dubai Financial Market added 5,298 new investor accounts in September.
Brokerage trading during the month reached approximately AED 32.07 billion, involving around 14.64 billion shares and 689,160 transactions.
EFG Hermes UAE led brokerage firms by trading value in September, accounting for 21.28% of the total, equivalent to approximately AED 6.8 billion.
Arqaam Securities followed with a 12.12% share and trading worth around AED 3.88 billion.
BHM Capital Financial Services recorded approximately AED 3.45 billion in trading during the month, representing 10.79% of the total.
Emirates NBD Securities posted trading valued at around AED 3.01 billion, equivalent to a 9.39% share.
Mashreq Securities recorded approximately AED 1.84 billion in trading during September, accounting for 5.73% of the total.
