Dubai Chamber of Commerce, one of the three chambers operating under the umbrella of Dubai Chambers, has announced the establishment of the Dubai Contractors Business Group. The new group aims to support companies operating in the contracting sector and strengthen their contribution to economic development by providing a unified representative platform that addresses the sector’s interests and key issues.

The group will work to expand channels of communication between contracting companies and both government and private sector entities. This will allow stakeholders to discuss opportunities and challenges facing the sector, while also presenting proposals and recommendations that can help improve the regulatory environment and support the sector’s long-term sustainable growth.

Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, Director General of Dubai Chambers, said the launch of the Dubai Contractors Business Group reflects Dubai Chamber of Commerce’s commitment to supporting strategic sectors that contribute to strengthening the emirate’s position as a global hub for business and investment.

He added that the contracting sector is a key pillar of Dubai’s comprehensive development journey, given its direct role in delivering infrastructure projects, urban development, sustainable economic growth, and improving quality of life in the emirate.

Lootah noted that the group will provide a practical platform to enhance cooperation and exchange views between companies operating in the contracting sector and relevant authorities. This will help identify future opportunities, address challenges, and raise the sector’s efficiency and competitiveness in line with Dubai’s development ambitions and long-term economic goals.

Abdullah Saeed Al Naboodah, Chairman of the Dubai Contractors Business Group, said the contracting and construction sector has always been one of the main drivers of Dubai’s development. Over the past decades, it has played a central role in developing infrastructure, residential communities, and major projects that formed an important foundation for the emirate’s economic progress.

Al Naboodah said the establishment of the group reflects the commitment of those working in the contracting sector to strengthening joint cooperation, raising professional standards, and building a unified vision capable of keeping pace with the aspirations of the wise leadership and anticipating future requirements.

He also noted that the role of the contracting sector has not been limited to project delivery. It has been an influential partner in transforming Dubai into a global model for economic development, urban excellence, and innovation. He added that the UAE continues to strengthen its global presence through world-class infrastructure and development projects.

According to Al Naboodah, the strategic objectives of the Dubai Contractors Business Group focus on bringing entrepreneurs and industry leaders together around a shared vision to enhance competitiveness, reinforce Dubai’s position as an attractive destination for large-scale construction investments, and raise professional standards by adopting global best practices in building and construction.

The group will also support sustainability across the sector by encouraging solutions and practices that ensure continued growth and improve the ability of companies to adapt to future changes.

The Dubai Contractors Business Group is expected to submit proposals for developing regulatory policies related to the sector. It will also work to improve understanding of legal frameworks, helping to strengthen the competitiveness of the business ecosystem linked to contracting and reinforcing the sector’s role in Dubai and the UAE’s comprehensive and sustainable growth.
