Dubai is preparing to welcome one of its most ambitious retail and entertainment developments yet – the Dubai Square Mall, a colossal project currently under construction in the heart of Dubai Creek.
In a recent post on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, Mohamed Alabbar, founder of Emaar Properties, revealed that the mall is expected to open in three years. He emphasized the scale of the development, stating that Dubai Square Mall will be three times the size of the Downtown Dubai area surrounding Burj Khalifa, making it a landmark on its own. The total investment in the project is estimated at AED 180 billion.
What sets Dubai Square apart isn’t just its size. Alabbar noted that the mall will support electric vehicle access, reflecting Dubai’s push toward sustainability and smart urban mobility.
Back in February 2024, Emaar had approved the detailed design for Dubai Square. Once completed, it is expected to become the second-largest retail and entertainment hub in Dubai Creek, boasting a modern and forward-thinking design that leverages cutting-edge technology.
The mall will also be directly connected to the upcoming Dubai Creek Tower — another iconic structure under construction — placing it in a prime location at the heart of the city’s future skyline.
Beyond shopping and entertainment, Dubai Square is being developed with an emphasis on livability. The wider project will feature pedestrian-friendly streets, 7.4 million square meters of residential space, and 500,000 square meters of parks and open areas, promoting a walkable and community-focused environment.
